Parents on Visit visa and going on Lettings Agreement

Post by kuruvi » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:11 pm

Dear Members,

Hope you can give me some advise on my situation.

I have asked for Landlord's consent for my parents stay to apply for Settlement under Elderly Parents SET F.

They are staying with me and I have oral consent. But the Landlord's agent refusing to give written consent because the landlord is concerned with the liability.

Therefore, the landlord/agent want us to do a new agreement with my parents name included.

My concern is whether they are allowed to be included in the letting agreement since they are visitors. Will it have negative impact on their Settlement visa.

Thank you,

Accommodation is only a side issue so before you set about changing the lease you need to know if it's worth doing so. Do they qualify for settlement and when will they be applying. What dramatic circumstance has occurred during this current visit that is forcing them to abandon their situation back home and remain in the UK?

Furthermore, you can't expect to garner meaningful advice from this forum if you continue to open new threads every time you have a question about the same situation. People need to know the whole story.
