legally married before 9th July but reception after 9 July?

Post by carlyann » Fri Jun 15, 2012 6:33 pm

Hi,

I've moved forward my civil service (which in Nicaragua is just a meeting with a lawyer who then registers the marriage with the Mayor) to 5 July. I do meet the major changes being introduced on 9 July - eg income, but I work through a ltd company and I can't provide some of the documents listed as compulsory to satisfy the UKBA because my first year end isn't until Jan 2013 - so I don't have audited accounts and tax returns or a full 12 months bank accounts

We can't change the date of the reception which is on 28 Jul - everything is booked, paid for and people are travelling from Costa Rica.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to present this in our application? I can include copies of receipts for the ceremony, picture of wedding dress etc but at the end of the day it will be pretty clear that we are trying to push the application through before the changes. I would have thought that it should be up to people as to when or if at all they have a reception given cost, religious preference etc - but I have seen posts where peoples relationship has been doubted where there are no photos of the wedding itself or not enough.

I have already taken legal advicxe on all other aspects of my application - its just that the new rules on the doumentation to provide for a limited company I simply won't be able to fulfil until 2013 and we can't be separated for another 9 months.

Is this application doomed to fail on this basis or am i worrying unnecessarily?

Thanks everyone
Hoping to be reunited soon
