Hi
My Husband lost his passport (and ILR) last year. He has since had it replaced but now needs to fill out form NTL and apply through Home Office for his ILR to be put in this passport.
The reason I'm writing is I'm so worried!! I would love some reassurance! We have been married for over 8 years and have two children (both British citizens as am I), he is American. The problem is we have been back and forth to the States never really settling anywhere. During that time we lost his paperwork to say he had a visa. I am sick with worry now. At first I thought they could look him up in 'the system' and as long as he could prove who he was everything would be okay but now I'm not so sure.
For the last year and a half he has been in America more than here (he did visit a couple of times though as me and our Daughters were here) and we spoke everyday on the phone - but over there his cousin died of stomach cancer and his Mum had breast cancer, so it was one of those awful things where we couldn't be together as much as we hoped. Sorry I know this is way too much information, but I'm just worried whether he will get his visa put back in his passport. I'm worried we'll have to pack up and go to America again!! (where my visa status is fine and dandy) but I want to be here near my Mum and Dad. Does anyone forsee this moving around and gap in living together as a problem?
Your help is most appreciated!
Lisa.
