EEA citizen with PR married to BC - when to apply?

Post by marwanb » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:57 pm

I've gone through the FAQs and the HO site, but still unclear when I can safely apply for naturalisation.

Here are the basic facts:
January 2006: landed in UK, as EEA citizen
May 2010: married BC
May 2012: Received EEA-3 approval (work-based)

When can I apply for naturalisation?
(i) Now, based on being married to BC - and having no immigration restrictions confirmed through EEA3 route (i've been in the country over 3 yrs)
(ii) In May 2013, 1 yr after receipt of EEA3?

Many thanks.

It's (i) and was this case since January 2011 (after 5 years in the UK).

Thanks Jambo. Essentially the requirement is for me if I am married to a BC is to be free of immigration controls (in an EEA citizen case - that's 5 yrs exercising my treaty rights; for a non-EEA citizen - obtaining an ILR).

Another more practical question, when I apply for naturliasation do I need to provide once again proof of exercising treaty rights for 5 yrs (including employer letters, P60s, bank statements) or should I just attach my PR certificate?

PR confirmation card is enough.
