NEED URGENT ADVICE

Post by shani_haider » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:57 pm

Can some one please help me with my current sitiuation.

Me and my wife will be applying for ILR in OCT 2012 as I will complete my 5 years on Work permit + Tier 1. My son who was born in UK in November last year, I have not applied for his dpedant visa for him as I was planning to register him as a british citizen once I get my ILR.

Now due to some changes I need to visit my home county due to which I need to apply for dependant visa for my son (so that he can travel with us). My confusion is that if I apply for him dependant visa now will he be eligible to get registered as british after I get ILR or will he be falling in same criteria as my dependant and need to complete 2 years duration and then need to apply for ILR and then passport.

Thanks in advance

See Child born in the UK

Whether a (UK born) child has or has not applied for leave is irrelevant to his registration as British citizen.
