eea family permit extension

Post by malachi » Fri Oct 13, 2006 3:24 am

hallo
i currently have a eea family permit which is valid for three months , my wife and i are both living in the uk(she is from germany) , i recently enquired as to how i can get a residence card which is valid for 5 years , well i was sent the forms and told that it could take up to 6 months to get....i need to know whether it can be done much quicker , cause at the moment i cant open a bank account , i cant register with a GP(cause visa is less than 6 months) , plus employers seem tense employing me cause my visa says 3 months......what options do i have to get my residence card in a shorter space of time?

It does take a long time for Residence Card applications to be processed but my understanding is that it should be done in an average of three months.

The NHS! Who told you about take? Whoever it was it is not correct. You have the right to register with an NHS surgery now. In the doctor's surgery does not agree, ask for the contact details of the PCT, and take it up with them.
