ILR application: co hab evidence dilemma

Post by p125 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 2:10 pm

Hi,
I am HSMP+Tier 1 applicant. My HSMP visa has been stamped on 24th July 2007 and entered in UK on 20th August 2007. i have booked an appointment for next friday 29th June at Solihull which is within the 28 days limit of my 5th Anniversary so hope this wont be a problem.
both myself and my wife are here since last five years and we have documents like the council tax bill, Electricity and Gas bill, Mortgage documents. Here the problem is her passport is with her full name before marriage and on these bills the name appears as Mrs "MY SURNAME" so would that create any problem to prove our co-hab. Also i read in the ILR-FAQ link that we need to show 5 different documents for co-hab spread over two years but do they ask for all those documents OR two three types of document (council bill, water bill, Electricity bill) would be enough.

thanks

Take am much as possible document including junk letters in both your names or individual name and let them select which one they prefer . For that Surname of yours on her letters is not a problem as long as you have your marriage certificate you are fine .

Hi

It doesn't really matter as many of the womens dont change their surnames even after getting married. I dont really see an issue with your problem you'll be fine. Just try to carry different documents like your wifes DVLA, your and your wifes joint account bank statments if you have a joint bank account other wise just your wifes bank statement, her NHS card, Council tax bills I think that would be suffice.

Please do kindly share your PEO experience with us on the forum.

Good luck for your ILR.
