Tier 2 valid duration error, need help.

I just got my BRP card delivered (21-Jun-2012) and I found that one thing listed on the card could be an error.

I signed the one-year contract to be a research fellow in University. But the issue date of my Tier 2 visa is 18-Jun-2012 and it is valid until 14-03-2013 (less than nine month, not one year). The duration I got is just roughly nine months which is not in line with the time prescribed in the contract/CoS (Certificate of Sponsorship).
Does it happen sometime?

Could any guru give me some guidance about how to deal with this problem?

Check with your sponsor what dates they had specified for the period of engagement when applying / assigning CoS.
