Life in uk test

I'm not due to apply for British passport till May2013 . Can I pass my test now an use that certificate next year next. Thank you for any answer in advance

You do not need to pass any tests to apply for British passport.

I presume the OP made (the common) mistake of mixing citizenship and passport application.
