Can I Ask for My Husband's British Birth Certificate Back?

Post by gabysls » Sun Jun 24, 2012 8:05 pm

Hi All,

Hope someone can help me please. I submitted my FLR(M) recently in April. Without my knowledge, my hubby sent his British passport for renewal! So for my application we decided to send his British Birth Certificate together with other official documents.

Now it turns out to be that my hubby's application for passport is being rejected since he forgot to submit his birth certificate. Well he wouldn't be able to do that in the first place anyway since I had already submitted my application together with his birth certificate.

So my question is, am I allowed to ask for his Birth Certificate back for him to send it to the passport renewal service? I hope this will not mean that my application will be treated as withdrawn?

Thank you kindly.

Gaby

Gaby, it may well be easier to simply order a replacement birth certificate..(ironically) from the Home Office Identity & Passport Office. You can do this online for a small fee.
