Visitor Visa for Mother in law

Post by gaur_mohit » Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:53 pm

Hi All,

I am in a confused situation here. I am calling my mother in law to visit us in UK as my wife is expecting. I just found she has no property on her name to show as strong ties in India. She is a widow and living in a joint family.

I would like to know what are the other documents she can show to prove that she will return back to India after her visit?
Is 1 or 2 fixed deposits on her name enough? Unfortunately There is no other document(property, PF etc.) we have.

I shall be sponsoring her complete trip. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!!!

It is quite common for women not to have things on their names in India or Pakistan.

You should state this clearly in your sponsorship letter, but if she has a husband, children, grand kids to go to back to, then there are no better reasons why she would not go back.

Explain reasons why she is coming to UK, and how you intend to support and fund her trip

Be honest with all info in application and I don't see why she would not get a visa
