Job continuity a must for ILR ?

Post by O_Relly » Mon Jun 25, 2012 3:32 pm

Hello,

I was just browsing through the forum, and I see that people have mentioned a point during their ILR application, that there was no break in job continuity / employment. Is this a mandatory requirement ? The Tier 1 does not mandate job continuity for extension, now does ILR mandate such a requirement ?

Now, it is possible for contractors to have breaks between contracts, will this pose a problem for ILR ?

Please clarify.

Other than for Tier 2 migrants, there is no requirement for applicants to be employed at the time of settlement applications.

Being unemployed at any time during the qualifying residence period is not an issue for Tier 1 (General) migrants applying for settlement. Points based eligibility criteria for settlement for Tier 1 (General) migrants is the same as that for extension.
