Hi everyone... Just wanted to clarify something regarding applications made after end Feb 2012 - when the requirement for the BRP kicked in.

I already had my BRP prior to submitting the ILR application, and hence assumed I did not need to submit my details again. I haven't received any letters from UKBA, apart from just the acknowledgement and thought this was all par for course.

However, had a conversation with one of my work colleagues who will be applying for his ILR soon (though on the basis of 5 years WP) and his understanding was that you had to submit your details again, even if you had a BRP in the past. This is for reducing the number of fraudelent applications made apparently.

Having scanned through the UKBA website and guidance notes, I can't find any evidence to back this up so wanted to check with the online community.

1. Has anyone who applied in March 2012 received their ILR as yet?
2. Has anyone, who had a BRP prior to the requirement becoming mandatory for everyone, had to give their details again prior to being granted their ILR?

Thanks all, hopefully someone will be able to alleviate my concerns...

Every applicant who has applied for settlement after 28-Feb-12 must submit his/her biometrics again .. irrespective of whether they were submitted in the past.

Thanks for your reply sush, though could I please ask for a link to the relevant section?

I've gone through the form again, guidance notes and the separate document on residence permits - all a little unclear.

To clarify, my BRP was issued in the UK and submitted with the application. Does that still require me to submit my details again?

If so, this is slightly worrying as I've not had the letter inviting me to do so :(

Thanks for the links, though I have to admit I still couldn't find the relevant info in there having had a cursory glance

Plan to read in detail this evening.
