Spouse/marriage visa questions

Post by Cnmarshall09 » Tue Jun 26, 2012 3:30 pm

I am a UK resident (moved back to UK from US this year) and my husband (of 3 years) who is a US citizen wants to move here. I am aware that we need to apply for spouse visa and I am aware of the new changes coming up. My question is can I have a co-sponsor (my aunt) when applying for the visa? My aunt is a UK citizen and has been working for the school system for many years. So if I can't meet the income requirements can she help?

Unfortunately, from the 9th July, 3rd party financial support will no longer be acceptable. Could you submit an application before then?

If I did then it would solely be my aunts funds because I am not working yet.

After the new regulations are implemented on 9th July you would have to show a minimum annual income of £18,600, and submit evidence spread over at least 6 months pay slips to confirm this.
An application submitted before the rules change would require your aunt to provide documented proof that she will be able and willing to support you financially.

Yes, as many jobs as you may wish to do.
