How many days outside uk on Tier2 ?

Hi, I'm on Tier2 Gen.

I travel to a EEA country often to visit my wife. (Who lives there now)

I want to know how many days I can stay outside UK (to visit my wife) ? I got a schegen visa and it has a restriction that I can't stay not more than 30days at a time. (But 90 days in total within 6 months)

I know I can't stay more than 180 days in 5 years but this to qualify for ILR. What if I'm not looking forward to ILR? Is there any restrictions on how many days I can stay out of UK within a given period on TIER2 ?

Depends on the reason for the absence. Paid holidays and business trips may be discounted.

Thanks for your reply. I got a 90 day visa now to visit my wife. (For a period of 1 year) I already had a 60 day visa in which I spent 50 days from dec 2011 to Now.

I will be using the 90 days until next year June 2013

I usually visit during my holidays and weekends. So is there any rules that says I can't stay out of UK for certain number of days while on TIER2. (Excluding the need for ILR which I don't need cause I'm moving to my wifes EEA country in the next 2 years time)

But how do you justify these absences to your employer? Does he continue to pay you beyond what would normally be 28 days paid holiday for most UK workers.

If you don't wish for ILR then the absences won't matter (if you continue to be employed by your sponsor).

My employer is fine with me leaving whenever I need and yes I'm paid for any day offs I take. I usually take about 2-3 days off extra in a month. I also get my 28 day annual holidays. They are fine as long as it doesn't breach any TIER2 rules.
