Part time jobs in the UK

I heard that getting a part-time job in Uk is tough,when compared to other student countries,is it ture? bcz many of my friends in Uk are doing part-time jobs well,but what I listening from some others is 'it's hard' could any one explain the real situation about part time work in uk?

Thats true. No part time jobs at the moment and specially students are really in very bad situation. Everyone is hoping that Olympic will bring some economic activity but still job situation is not good and anyone who is saying everything is fine in UK, is actually lying. You can even find the reality by searching google.
