Working Holidaymaker Visa

Post by osowande » Sat Mar 20, 2004 11:53 am

I am in the process of applying for the WHM visa. However, I need some advice. A friend of mine was recently awarded the visa, even though she said at her interview that she was going to the UK to gain work experience. I have been told by several people that you must never mention this at the interview, that you should insist that you are going for an extended holiday.

Should I go the 'holiday' route, or should I be honest and tell them I'm going to work?

The key thing is to emphasise that you will be mixing work with holiday as opposed to highlighting that all you intend to do is work. A standard response should be you plan to have 50:50 split between work and holiday time.

Good Luck
