applying before 09/07/2012

Post by pauldm21 » Sat Jun 30, 2012 12:55 am

Hi folks,

we have my wife's spouse visa pretty much ready to submit... just waiting on her to sit and hopefully pass her English test. If we apply online before 09/07/12, do you have to select the date for the biometrics appointment (and submit application) at that time? Am I right in thinking you have 60 days from applying online to submitting in person? Our issue is we don't currently know the date of my wife's english test. It could be around the end of or early-mid august. Do we have to specify the embassy appointment date at the time of applying online? or can we applying online (before 09/07/2012, so that we are subject rules) then wait until we have a confirmed test date before we then specify the date for the embassy appointment?

Also do we have any grounds for appeal given that she had an English Test booked for 23/06/12 but couldn't sit the test due to illness? If she had been able to sit that test, we would have obviously been able to submit the application before 09/07/12.

thanks

Others who have recent experience about visa application procedures will answer your queries. Procedures differ slightly between countries. But in all cases, the date you pay for your application is the date your application is regarded as "submitted".

One thing I can tell you for sure is, that if you make application on 9th of july or later, then there is no appeal or excuses that if you werent ill you would have took the test and then submitted the application before 9th July.

There are two ways, and only two ways. If the application is submitted before 9th of July then its dealt with under current rules. If its submitted on or after 9th July then its dealt with under new rules. The factors that led to application being submiited on a certain date are irrelevant.

Hi ,

Why don't you get your wife to sit for PTE Academics by Pearsons, its a computer based test.

My wife sat on 29/06 and got the result on 30/06 - this would solve your issue. :D

No test centre's in Peru through PTE unfortunately. Only company I can find offering tests in Peru is ETS with the TOEFL ibt test!! They only run B1 level tests as well so its a bit tougher than the other tests i think. 2nd attempt lucky for the Mrs on friday hopefully!
