Post by irfan0611 » Sat Jun 30, 2012 4:50 pm

My wife is waiting for her settlement visa since 17/02/2012. She applied from Mirpur (Pakistan). has anyone waiting longer than this time?

I am not aware of any Pakistani applicants from 17th February or before that date, who are still waiting for a decision.

But a member on here called "Shade00" applied on 22 February, and he is still waiting to hear. I think that you will hear something from Gerrys within the next 7 days. If not contact the British High Commission in Islamabad or phone Gerrys for an update.
Application submitted: Lhe 19.04.12
Application Forwarded to Isld 19/04/12
Under Process at BHC: 07/05/12

Peace, love and best wishes to all.

Does anyone know how long the Mirpur centre has been available to apply from? And also, is it any better to apply from Islamabad?

Mirpur centre is around for long time however; m not sure about the exact time maybe somebody else can let u know.

And about applying from mirpur, this centre receives fewer applications than from Islamabad and I heard usually people get quicker response but as u can see from my wife's case we r waiting since February.
I would suggest u no matter what centre u apply from but try to get right documents and meet required criteria I.e. no less or no extra documents. Make it sole and to.the point for Ur case handler.

Good luck with Ur visa and try to apply within the 1st week of July if Ur documents r ready as u might b aware of new rules!

Everything gets sorted out in date order of application and not whether you applied from Mirpur,Islamabad,Lahore or Karachi. They all get dealt with by the same officers sitting in the same buildings in Abu Dhabi or Croydon
