Tier 1 Extention Form Section 2 D

Post by tier1_PEO_applicant » Fri Jun 01, 2012 4:56 pm

Hi All,
Just a general query as the wording is confusing within this section.
Tier1 General appilcation form, section 2 D (Immigration History) says as below.

D2. Where did the applicant obtain entry clearance or a visa before travelling to the United
Kingdom?

Does the above question mean the first entry to UK, say in my case as student ??
or
Does it mean my first clearance as Tier-1 visa holder ??

D3. What date was the entry clearance or visa issued?
Do I use the date of my first visa before 7 years ?? or Do I use date of my Tier-1 visa approval?? If Tier-1 approval date, is it the one on approval letter or one on BRP card ??

D4. Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant’s passport or travel document.
Which number is this if I have a BRP??

D10. When did the applicant arrive in the United Kingdom?
Again does this mean my first ever entry (around 7 years ago) or my first entry after Tier-1 around 1 year ago?

Any guidance would be helpful.
Kind Regards

This is where (country, town where you applied for your visa) you were originally granted EC from, as a Tier 1 visa holder.

This is the Tier 1 EC valid from date, that can be found on your EC sticker in your passport.

This can be found on your EC sticker in your passport. It isn't related to a BRP.

Again, this refers to your date of entry to the UK as a Tier 1 migrant.

Does this mean, I write England, Durham/Sheffield as I got my Tier1 in UK in 2011 or India, where I got my first visa to come to UK in 2004??

I don't have a sticker, I only have BRP, again are you sure this is the Tier1 date and not the date of my first visa which was student visa before 7 years ???

I only have a BRP for Tier1, the only stickers I have are for previous student and PSW visas so what to do ??

I didn't enter UK as Tier1 migrant, I entered as a student before 7 years, which is why I am having above questions.

sorry for more questions, but I am not sure what answers are the correct ones.
Hope someone helps out...

I have my initial Tier1 visa until next June, i.e. June 2013, but in Feb 2014, I am eligible for PR on basis of 10yr long residence.

It doesn't matter when do I get my extension, now or next year, as within 3yr period from now, I am going to be able to apply for my PR.

So, I am planning to apply for my Tier1 extension now, this week itself. Would this be a problem ??

Also, my main job gives me enough salary to show the required points, but I also have a sunday job which credits the salary in same account.

Do I need to show the 2nd job as it can be seen on bank statements ? Or would showing one job suffice as far as it meets the required points for earnings ??

Any advise would be helpful.

My original responses were based on the following, where you indicated that you had obtained Entry Clearance for your Tier 1 General visa. Based on your subsequent post it appears that you changed immigration categories whilst in the UK. Note that you can only apply for EC outside of the UK, so what you should have said below is that you applied for "leave to remain" as a Tier 1 General Migrant rather than EC.

So I'll respond to these questions again now based on what you have now mentioned.

D2. The answer is now where you applied for EC as a Student.
D3. The date that your Student EC is valid from.
D4. This will be the reference on the Student EC sticker.
D10. I would state the date you first entered the UK as a Student for this. (Note that this question only applies if you answered D5. as "Yes".)

As the Application form caters more towards applicants who gain EC for entry as Tier 1 General Migrants, I would personally include a cover letter explaining that you first entered as a student and then changed immigration categories while in the UK along with the relevant dates. While not mandatory this will help the CW understand your circumstances when going through your application.
