Change of address during MN1 processing

Post by mkn » Wed Jul 04, 2012 12:50 pm

I would be applying for BC reg for my daughter once I get ILR (appointment on 6 July). If I change my address( as I need to move house by end of Aug month) during the processing of MN1 for my daughter would there be some hassle??

I have read on this forum that it take 2-3 month for BC reg and donot want to delay her registration once I get my ILR so would informing the address change to HO be of any help, any one been through this??

Why not apply once you have moved?

This application is an entitlement. UKBA cannot refuse the application if you meet the requirements. I don't think there should be such a rush to apply.

It is possible to advice UKBA of change of address after the application is submitted. But what if there is an error by UKBA and your docs get sent to the old address? Will just cause you headache. Ringing them, writing to them etc etc.

I personally would say that apply once you have moved.

Alternatively use NCS, call HO when you move to update their records and have Royal mail redirection to the new address (as a backup). The certificate is sent by normal post so will get redirected.
