The definition of the word "rent" is a payment, so you appear to be contradicting yourself in the statement made above. Do you actually mean to say you and your partner live in a flat for which neither of you pay any rent? Or do you mean your partner pays the rent?bookshop1979 wrote:I rent a flat with my partner (both our names are on the tenancy agreement), however I dont pay the monthly rent.
I mean my partner pays the rent. To clarify what I meant by rent a flat, I said that both our names are on the tenancy agreement, but I cannot 'show' that I pay any rent.cs95tdg wrote:The definition of the word "rent" is a payment, so you appear to be contradicting yourself in the statement made above. Thanks Ron. What supporting documents did you submit?ron17 wrote:I'm exactly the same situation as you. I think effectively you are paying half rent and half bills.
In my form, I ticked 'other' for the first question and put 'privately rented by me and my partner'.
For question 5.2, I put the total rent we pay together.
Hope this help.
Based on the above the answer to Q5.2 would be "yes". I.e. because the question asks whether you or your partner, or both, pay any rent. The amount would be the actual rent amount (i.e. what your partner pays). If you want you can always include a covering letter to explain for clarity.bookshop1979 wrote:I mean my partner pays the rent. I don't think supporting document is needed to show I pay rent (I'm applying by SET(O) 5 years WP), but I will bring my rental agreement with me on the day, just in case they ask.bookshop1979 wrote:Thanks Ron.
