Post by alto » Thu Jul 05, 2012 8:57 am

Hi,
I'm looking for a non expensive option to call back home (Pakistan) during my studies in UK.
Any advice?

Do you live in an secluded cottage on top of a hill in scottish highlands?

If not, then you will see at every nook and corner (shop) phone cards for sale. Also lyca and lebara mobile. Plus another 2000 adverts a day in newspapers and tv advertising cheap calls to anywhere and everywhere.

Plus there is skype, msn, yahoo, viber, tiber, liger shibberm, tibber, ching wing ding etc etc etc. If I list everything, it will be about 3000 pages.

I am baffled someone would ask such kind of a question on this forum.

If someone has only just arrived in the UK as a student, it's a perfectly normal question to ask. Put yourself in their shoes. How do you know they've even left Pakistan yet?

Hands up casa, my fault. You are right, they might not have even left pakistan yet. I withdraw my stupid comments. Info about cards and other methods might still be useful.

My personal knoweledge about student tribe is, that once in UK, they know more than most about the cheapest ways possible to call home. :)

He's posting from the UK, but I was just making a point.
He may have only just landed of course.
