APPLIED EEA2 BUT VISA EXPIRED

HI , THANKZ TO ALL USERS WHO HAVE SHARED LOT OF INFORMATION , MY CONCERN IS I APPLIED EEA2 ON 21 ST JAN STILL UNDER PROCESS ITS BEEN FIVE AND HALF MONTHS , BUT MY VISA EXPRED IN MARCH 2012 , IN CASE IF THEY REFUSE MY APPLIATION
1 DO THEY HOLD MY PASSPORT COS HAVING NO VALID VISA
2 IF THEY SEND BACK MY PASSPORT AS MY VISA EXPIRED , AM I STILL LEGAL IN UK AND CAN I RE APPLY
3 IF I RE APPLY CAN I STILL WORK ( MY WIFE IS EXERSING EU TREATY )

NOTE in few cases when visa expires they and when they dont give new visa they hold passport , rahter then giving some time to leave the contry so they can deport themselve

UR EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE WILL BE APPRICIATED. THANZ
