Extension,Self employed,Tax issues query

Post by fcb » Thu Jul 05, 2012 4:37 pm

Hi guys
I am due for extension on 27th july 2012. I have been working as solely self employed since last 3 years but never paid taxes...Bad of me i know....But have to sort myself out now..Now for extension I have to show income and have to pay taxes...my queries are
1. I do not have enough money if I have to pay for last 3 years...it will take lot of time as well as HMR will probably track the whole 3 yrs....If i pay for last year only now and make arrangements with HMR to pay the due tax+fines will it be fine for my extension?
2. Will Home Office dig into this if i only submit tax returns+bank statements+invoices etc for only last 12 months or so?
3. If i pay tax online I can print the receipt given by HMR...Is this receipt with my statements and invoices enough to prove income?

erm thats whole lot for now i guess....any help asap will be much much appreciated..please help me....

i stand to be corrected here but i think you can make arrangement with hmrc to pay whatever tax outstanding by instalment , u can enquire in general terms from hmrc without giving them much details of yourself that way you can make a decision based on the options you have.
