Quire about COS code

Post by cool_07 » Thu Jul 05, 2012 7:14 pm

Hi All

I am on my PSW visa which is gone expire on FEB 2013 and hoping to switch to TIER 2(General). So my question is
1) What will be the SOC Code for Software Test Engineer and salary expected ?
2) What is the General Time line for getting the Sponsor License ( your company have already applied in MAY 2012)?

The question and answer related to obtaining a sponsor licence in the UK, not a visa in the US

It is the job that must be at NQF 6 level (which Test Analyst is) but this doesn't mean that you have to be educated to this level.

It is the employer's responsibility to determine the appropriate SOC code for the job and he must pay you the minimum salary prescribed.

You need a CoS for your leave to remain application. The SOC code will be in the CoS and the employer will decide what it should be.
