FORM NS

Post by mary16 » Sat Jul 07, 2012 1:11 pm

I have today received a letter from the home office regarding my application saying they cannot confirm my sons right to british citizenship but based on the information i have provided he may have an automatic claim to british citizenship, provided the relevant documentation can be produced.

His father who has indefinite leave to remain, and i split up last year and he has refused to assist in getting his son a passport. I am on a work permit.

the ukba have suggested i complete form NS and send back to prove my sons nationality. My question is, as i dont have his fathers proof of ILR is my sons birth certificate adequate? If i complete the form and send back, is that adequate to prove his nationality?
My sons father is named on my sons birth certificate and paying child maintenance.

any help will be highly appreciated.

Provide as much information on the father as you can (name, date of birth, passport number, home address). This would help the HO to locate the father immigration file and to confirm his ILR from their records.
