Changes to Immigrant Test (Life in the UK Test)

Post by ilrupdates » Sun Jul 08, 2012 7:30 am

Dear All members as you must know that life in the uk test is necessary for ILR visa/settlement visa and once you pass the test, it remains valid for unlimited time/ has no expiry date.

The Govt. is planing to do some changes in "Life in The UK Test" and hopefully these changes will come into effect soon.
this is the link of proposed changes to life in the uk test.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18662531

Now my questions are as follows if some one can clarify me on this ambiguousness please.

1. I have already passed my life in the uk test and got pass certificate. my ILR is due in March 2013. now if the ukba proposed changes come into effect before March 2013 (when my ILR is due), will I have to pass the new changed life in the uk test again? Or my previous passed test will still remain valid in spite of newly implemented changed test?

2. when this new test is supposed to be implemented ?

3. As "Life in The UK Test" is valid for unlimited time/has no expiry date, so what will be the status of passed OLD "LIFE IN THE UK TEST" with the implementation of the NEW/PROPOSED and changed "Life In The UK Test"

Please let me know if some one has clear information on this please.

No one knows yet but I would assume that if you passed the test in its old form, you won't be asked to pass it again in future.
