Dear all,
Does anybody on this forum has experience with the current waiting times for processing of permanent residence applications for non-EU people in Czech Republic?
What they have told me at the MOI is that it takes 3 months. If they find any mistakes in the application after 3 months, the process starts from day 1 and takes another 3 months.
However, the following is stated on their website (http://www.mvcr.cz/mvcren/article/t...udW09MQ%3d %3d):
"The Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals (pdf, 1.5 MB) sets a deadline of 60 days from filing the application in the Czech Republic and 180 from filing the application at a Czech Embassy, during which the MOI is required to make a decision on your application. If the procedure is interrupted, the deadline for making a decision is also halted. This deadline is also halted or is extended in other legally set cases."
It is kind of hard to understand WHY the department that is handling permanent residence has such an enormous backlog. They are processing these applications at the MOI since a couple of years ago, and were not suppose to be affected when longterm applications were changed from the foreign police to the MOI in January 2011.
Any feedback will be highly appreciated.
