Did they apply for a visitor visa from Sweden or did they get it at the border? Did they pay for the visa? If they are family member of EEA national, the visa should be free.
Ask him to read - Residence documents for non-EEA family members of EEA nationals.
I don't know about Sweden, but spouses of Italian citizens may get Italian citizenship without ever setting foot in Italy in their lives. It takes a while tough ...Jambo wrote:BTW - they should check but I'm not sure the wife could apply for Swedish citizenship if they don't live in Sweden any more.
