Last date of application

Hi,

If someone's visa is expiring on Sunday, what will be his last date of application, Saturday or Monday?

Example:

If Mr Joe Bloggs is in UK on Tier 1 general visa. His Visa valid till date says 8 July 2012, which is Sunday. According to immigration rules, what will be his last date to dispatch his application for extension. Will it be Saturday, 7 July 2012 OR Monday 9 July 2012.

I have read some where that it is Monday, but not sure where. Can anyone kindly answer and direct me to the UKBA Document on this.
