Citizenship for baby

Post by Shekharaca81 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:56 pm

Hello member of the forum

I recently had a baby who was born outside the UK and has an Indian passport.

I am on a Tier 1 Visa and my wife is a a Tier 1 dependent. She will apply for a tier 1 dependent visa shortly for the baby so both of them can travel back to the UK.

I become eligible for ILR next month, in August.

My question is that if I get the ILR in August, then when the baby comes to the UK later in the year, does the baby become eligible for British Citizenship automatically?

Many Thanks for your time and help.

Regards
Shekhar

No. See Q1 in Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - Children.
