T2 Dependent Visa – Proof of relationship application

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend of 5+ years should be issued with a COS this week, and I am planning to apply as a dependent on his visa. We were on a T5 visa that expired May 22, 2012 so we had to return to Australia whilst waiting for the COS to be issued.

Does anyone have advice on how to structure the application, and if more documents than necessary are required?

Our proof:
• We have an AU rental agreement dating from 2008
• We have 2 x UK rental agreements from June 2010–May 2012
• Joint UK bank account since Feb 2012
• Joint tax bills at both addresses
• Solo bills, but at the same address
• Same day entry whilst travelling

Potential problems include:
• I travelled for 6 months on my own to scope out the UK late 2009
• Proof of income is only from UK bank accounts
• Our AU statements go to our parents addresses, so although we're staying in the same house, we don't have the paperwork to prove it after May 2012.

My plan:
• Have a cover letter summarising our relationship with an outline of attached supporting documents
• Lead with (in chronological order) leases and bills with both our names, followed by individual bills but highlighting the same address.

Does anyone else have any advice? Is neatly putting it in a folder enough?
