GLASGOW PEO - EXPERIENCE - 09/07/2012

Main Applicant + 1 Dependent

Appointment – 9:30 AM

Employed

 Application Form (Main Applicant)
 Passport
 Photos (2)
 Bank Statements - 12
 Payslips - 12
 P60 (optional)
 Employer reference letter
 Degree Certificate (optional)
 University Letter (English Language Proof) - optional
 Maintenance- Bank Statements
 PBS calculator summary printout
 Approval Letter (Initial Tier 1)

 Application Form (Dependent)
 Passport
 Photos(2)
 Marriage Certificate

We reached the Glasgow PEO at 08:45 AM, as it was raining they let us in after the security check to be seated in the waiting area.

The staff was very friendly, at 9:20 AM we were given a token and was called to the counter at 9:25 AM where we submitted all the documents, case worker advised he will take 15mins to check if all the documents and let us know. We were called again at 9:45 AM, the case worker returned the Marriage Certificate, Degree Certificate & Initial Tier 1 Approval Letter and he advised the case will now be sent for processing and estimated time for completion is 10:55 AM, we then were seated close to the counter.

Though I had all the supporting documents submitted I was a bit nervous and this wait was really difficult. At around 11:20 AM our token number was called and we went to the counter where the case worker had the letter and the documents ready, he mentioned “that’s it all done now ok” we were so relieved and very happy and left the PEO on a happy note.

There has been concerns about the type of payment cards they accept, I paid by HSBC VISA DEBIT CARD, there was no issues at all.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you on this forum for all the guidance and support and also wish good luck for everyone; it makes it so easy for others when people share their experiences.

Thanks

Sandy

I applied with in 4 weeks of expiry of my current visa. It was due to expire on 27/07/2012 and I had the appoint on 09/07/2012(approved) so that I don’t fall short of days for ILR

Visa was granted from the day approved (09/07/2012) and not the day it expires

So am I right to believe that your current leave is expiring on 27/07/2015(if 2+3) or 2014(if 3+2). Otherwise you will be few days short if it is only till 09/07/2015 or 2014.

i am under the impression if we apply(same day service at PEO) with in 4 weeks of expiry of the current visa we wont fall short of days for ILR.

In majority of cases when we apply via PEO the visa is granted from the day the decision was made and not from the day it expires, this was also confirmed by UKBA on the phone

any one please can confirm this, thanks in advance
