UK Family/General visa for wife?. I am on C-Visit-Business.

Hi all,

I am currently in UK on a C-Visit-Business visa. My wife, who works in India, plans to visit me for 10 days. Should she apply for a General Visitor Visa or Family Visitor visa.

I would have expected that she should apply for a Family Visitor visa, but the visa rules on the UK Border Agency website for Family Visitor visa say that I should be a UK Citizen or Settled in UK to invite a family member. But I am only here on a Business visa.

My wife is working in India and she is able to sponsor her visit on her own. So can she apply for General Visitor Visa, and can I still send her a letter of invitation.

Any suggestion in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
