eligibility for BC

Post by zakirali » Sun Jul 15, 2012 5:24 pm

Dear All,
I have a query regarding Naturalization, i wonder if any one would help me out....

I got ILR back in March 2011 on the bases of 14 years of private life stay but my entry in UK was illegal in January 1995.

to make my long story short.....My file for ILR was submitted in Home Office in March 2009, but after a long delay through refusals and appeal i was granted ILR in March 2011 at last.

my question so far is, am i eligible to apply for Naturalization or still i need to wait for some time?

thanks

This might depend on the reasons for refusal of your ILR application but in any case, this will not be earlier than March 2014.

You need 5 years of legal stay in the UK in order to be eligible and your stay before March 2009 was illegal.
