PEO decision deferred - FLR m Application

Post by brooc93 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:51 pm

Hello,
Would be grateful for some advice.

My husband applied for FLR m the second time around last week at Croydon. It was after the new rules came into effect.

Ironically, didn't envisage any issues as I earn over £18,000 alone, and my husband has had a full time job earning around £10,000 for the duration of the FLR. The only reason we renewed the FLR is we didn't reallise about the Life in UK Test - we had a baby a couple of months ago and didnt leave enough time to sort.

Anyway, we attended on 11 July. Waiting like 7 hours even to be seen!! it was a horrible day there!

At the end, after the case worker having our file for about 90 mins - she called us over to ask me for a letter from my work. I had submitted P60's, 12 months pay slips etc but didnt have a letter as didnt realise I needed one. They wouldnt accept a fax / email / call from my boss (had to be hard copy) so they deferred the premium appointment case and sent his docs to Sheffield.

We drove 300 miles home that night to get the letter from payroll and sent recorded delivery to Sheffield.

Does anyone know, even though applied as premium application if they are just waiting for the one document they have requested does it go any quicker than a standard postal application.

We were kinda surpised it was deferred as we had so much in our file - plus have a new born baby with us, so it was very clear we are very much happily married still!!

Would be grateful if anyone has been in this situation before - if it takes now an exceptionally long time to sort.

Thank you xx

Would be ever so grateful if anyone has any experience of when a case is deferred and how long it usually takes.

Hey, I'm finding myself in the same situation and it's hard to find out how long it might take. Did your husband get his and if so, how long did you wait? I hope you're not still waiting!
