New EmployerSponsorship-Switching T2 ICT to T2Gen Timelines?

Post by firangi » Mon Jul 16, 2012 5:58 pm

Hello Friends
I have explained the situation below and would be happy to receive any help:

I am on 5 years Tier-II ICT visa issued in Nov-2008. I have recently been interviewed by a prospective employer who would be interested to sponsor Tier-II visa for me.
I ‘suspect’ they do not have their own licence as ‘employers’ to issue work visa.
1)Could you please explain the process in detail for them to start from scratch and issue me a work visa? Please explain the fees and timelines as well.
A lenghty timeline (Visa + my notice period) might end this opportunity for me :(

A quick response would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks and regards

F

The process for applying for a T2 sponsor licence is described in the UKBA guidance (100+ pages)
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

For a small company the application fee is currently £500.

If their application is successful they would have to assign a CoS to you and you would then have to apply for leave to remain.

TIMELINE PLANNING
preparing sponsor licece application with all the documents to be submitted, say, 1 month
UKBA processing time of sponsor licence applications currently 3-5 month
Resident Labour Market Test (unless an exception applies) 1 month - could be done beforehand
Your leave to remain application, say, 2 months
