ILR to naturalisation time limit

Dear all - I had a question on the time duration between ILR and naturalisation.

If a person leaves UK after getting an ILR and returns within 24 months, what impact will that have on the naturalisation application? Couldn't find this in the FAQs or search so if this has already been answered, would appreciate if someone can direct me to that post.

Thank you for your inputs and time.

PS - To clarify, the person is not married to British citizen

You may struggle to retain your ILR if you leave the country for 24 monts straight after getting ILR
