Reg Working HolidayMaker Visa Application . Pls Advise

Hi

I applied for a working holidaymaker visa to the UK on Monday , the 16th of October 2006 . I have not yet got any update on my application and the status still shows the same . Does it usually take so long ? What do i do regarding this? Please advise . If incase i am called in for an interview , when will the interview approximately be? My friends tell me that they conduct WHM visa interviews only in the month of April which is 6 months away . Is it true? Please advise.
