FLR(M) Application Made....Please Advise

Hi All,

I am inquiring on behalf of my brother & would greatly appreciate your response.

My brother is on PSW at the moment he got in Pakistan with his British wife on 20th June and made FLR(M) application on 1st July, the application is received by the immigration authorities the next day.

Now here my question :

1- Would the new law starting from 9th July be applied on him ? because he got the acknowledgement letter from the immigration authorities on 9th July confirming that they have received his application.

Your quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All

Excuse me for posting here but I couldn't find the relevant topic, so if there is one- dear moderators, please, feel free to move my post.

Well, basically, the question is : "When does the 2 year qualifying period (towards ILR) start?" The more I read the more confusing it gets. Please can you point me in the right direction! Also, yeah, I applied in time for FLR (M) while still on fiancé visa (though it is expired by now), lets assume my application is successful and I will be receiving BRP sometime soon I wonder what date will it be valid from (i mean the date of my previous visa expired or the actual date BRP was issued? Thanks a bunch!

Thanks, asim72. All I have to do now is wait until the docs come back from HO. Applied on the 14 Feb and still waiting......
