Tricky situation regarding old workpermit refusal

Post by david1955 » Sat Jul 21, 2012 9:20 am

Hi , I hope someone can give me valuable advice on this tricky situation.
Currently i am on tier 2 general visa since nov 2009.

Back on 2008 when i was on tier 1 psw visa, my employer applied for work permit but for some reasons the home office refused it.

Now i dont know how the old work permit system used to work , was it the employer who used to apply the work permit first, and once granted the applicant used to send the passport along with the approval letter for the stamping? was this the way, correct me if i am wrong?

In 2009 my employer hired immigration advisor for my tier 2 and we were granted the tier 2 work visa.

My only concern is , this year i will be applying on my own for my tier 2 visa extension. Now the section in which they ask whether have been refused visa before or not? I dont know what should i put in there.

As in 2008 it was my employer request which was refused and not my visa application. I hope anyone can provide some valuable advice on this, as what should i put in that section?

Regards

David

Put no, if you are sure the lawyer only made the employer sponsor application.

My only concern is will this be considered a refusal ?

As my employer submitted the application, neither my passport nor any of my document was submitted , along with the application as this was not required for that part.

Once my employer application gets granted the homeoffice sends a approval letter and that approval letter i have to submit along with my visa application. So it wasnt a visa application, i guess..correct me if i am wrong?

I changed my suggestion. If there was no application by you then there is nothing to worry about.
