Urgent !! Confused with marriage certificate submission

Post by ginger.garlic » Sat Jul 21, 2012 2:15 pm

Hi All,

Foremost Thanks to all the members of this forum. Lots of queries get resolved just by searching older post.

I was about to apply extension of my tier1 visa and my wife dependant visa but after reading guideline now got confused with marriage certificate requirement.

My wife has joined me on tier1 dependant visa 2 years back that time I have submitted these evidence for marriage in Delhi, India vfs office they got accepted.
1.Original Nikahanama
2. Notarized photocopy of nikahnaama
3. Translation of Nikahnaama in english that is notarized and attested by DM office.

But now applying for dependant extension I am confused whether these evidence will be considered valid in UK office or not?

Please help should I submit above mentioned docs or not.

Other document I'll be submitting along with maintenance fund are
1. NHS Registration
2. Recent council bill having her and mine name on it.

Looking for your help in applying extension.
Thanks

You don't even need to submit these things if the dependants are already in UK. If you even send these it will be fine.

Thanks a lot salloo.
So I should only submit evidence for maintenance fund i.e. bank statement and no other documents are required.

I know its not mandatory but should I provide a cover letter and sponsor letter for my dependant.

I'll be applying along with my dependant.

Thanks to everyone for there help

I would suggest you to send the marriage certificate (in your case the nikhama) witht eh application to be on safer side along with documents which others have mentioned....as this will act as proof of change in name

Marriage certificate must be accompanied with the application. There is no other proof that she is your wife.
