Re: French Visa & Schegan Details

Hi,

In a nutshell, My and my wife have almost been married for 2 years, I am a British citizen but my wife is from India & has an Indian passport. We are thinking of visiting France for a week in the next few months. My question is is a schegan visa Free for a spouse of an EU citizen. I have registered my wife's details on TLS Contact Website.

Now they are telling me to pick a date and attend in person to deposit my application. I am thinking of making a day-trip to London, will they issue me a visa within a day as I am travelling from Preston, Lancashire. Or does it usually take a bit longer for them to issue a visa.

I have tried contacting the French authorities to get answers for my questions but all they did was send me to their TLS Contact Website.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It´s free, but your wife doesn´t necessarily need a visa (scroll down to >>EEA family member without Residence Card (Part 2)<<).

It will take ~ 2 weeks for the visa to be issued. Usually they offer to send the passport back to you by registered mail, if you dare take that option.

The French Embassy never replies to any questions (not that I know of any meaningful reply, anyway).

Hope this helped?
