Financial Requirements under new rules - who counts?

Post by AnAmericanInLondon » Sun Jul 22, 2012 8:54 pm

Greetings!

I'm applying for FLR(M) and hope someone can advise regarding the financial requirement of 18,600. I am employed, have been for over 6 months, and make far over this amount. Will this be enough for the application to be considered? I have all the required proof for Category A.

My partner / sponsor is self-employed and is a director at a limited company which is making things very complicated in regards to collecting the required paperwork. Ideally I'd just rely on my own income to meet the threshold but I don't know if, being my sponsor, his own income needs to be factored in as well.

Thank you for your time!

Hi mate,

I think , your income documents should be sufficient. If you would like include your wife' s document also then please be sure you got her papers through Registered Accountants ( ACCA accountants and their fees will be triple the normal accountants ) else your application will be rejected.

Thanks tamilmaran! I hope this is the case - it would make everything much easier.

If anyone else is reading and has experience or advice, would love to hear it! I'm hearing mixed things but this forum always seems to have the best advice.

I will try to put the requirement in my own easy to understand, layman's terms

To meet the requirement under salaried income from employment criteria, where there is in country application for spouse visa, aka FLR(M)

A. Either the sponsor's should meet the requirement by his/her employment.

or

B. The applicant should meet the requirement from his/her oemployment. (Assuming applicant has permission to work in UK)

or

C. The sponsor and applicant should jointly meet the requirement. (Assuming the applicant is permitted to work in UK)

So, from your post it appears that you meet the criteria in point B. above, You just need to submit you own employment documents. Do not worry or bother about gathering your sponsor's documents. They are not needed at all in your case.
