UK Family Visitor Visa For 6 Months

Hi All,

I am on Tier- 1 General, living in UK from last 3 years. My wife is on dependent. She is 7 months pregnant and i would like to call my mom-dad in uk from india to visit us and take care of us for around 6 months.

can anybody please put some light on the documents that i need to send to them like sponsor letter, bank statements, Job confirmation letter etc... as well as what documents they need to show from their side to apply from india.

Also, IMP thing is, once they arrive here in UK, i would like to take them to Paris and Spain for about 10 days on holiday. Someone told me that once you are on visit visa in UK, you can not apply schengen visa with in UK. is this true? if this is, then they need to first apply for schengen visa from india? or after they get UK family visa.

I am confused, please help

1) Do take a look at the following information on the UKBA website for family visitor sponsorship. There will be details on the documents required there as well.

2) Yes, UK visitors cannot generally apply for schengen visa's from within the UK. The application has to be made from the applicants country of residence. It would make sense for them to apply for the Schengen once their UK visit visa is approved in India. The Schengen visa application will need to be made in India as well.

Docs for your parents:

Your Land Registry (if you own the house) documents
Your tenancy agreement (if you rent)
Letter of invitation - this does not need to be signed by solicitor or anyone
If you are supporting them, bank statements
Your employment contract
Last 3 months payslips

To confirm, your parents would need to obtain visa from India should they wish to visit Schengen countries'. They can not apply from here as a tourist.

this certainly helps. so the conclusion is, they have to apply schengen visa from india after they get UK family visit visa.

anyways, i dont think i have that much time cos if they wait that much time for visa then my wife might deliver baby and they will not be here.

PS: i hate this SCHENGEN people and their procedure for visa.
