Tier 1 visa - changing passport

Post by hrayrd » Tue Jul 24, 2012 4:06 pm

Hello,
I hold a Tier 1 visa in my passport. As there is no any page left for new visas, i am going to change my passport(please note that this is not the case of expired passport, i am just changing as no visa page is left).

When i next enter the UK, should i use both passports(old and new)? Is it all ok or it can bring me to some problems at border?

Thanks

PS.
Moderators - sorry for posting this question in 2 different sections, just was not able to find how to move the topic between sections.

You won't have a problem. Just carry both the passport which contains your Tier 1 visa along with your new passport when travelling.

I've done this myself and never had a problem.

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I thought in case if passport is changed NOT due to expire period(like i said because just there is no page left for new visas) i may meet problems at Border. Glad it is all fine.

If you are worried there is a option to have the visa transferred to the new passport, but with an associated cost. Note that the reason you got your new passport has no bearing here, especially as you have just run out of pages in the old one.
