Extending Student Visa For 1 Month

Post by Mageling » Wed Jul 25, 2012 12:01 pm

Good Morning All :-)

I am writing this on behalf of my girlfriend.

Her Visa expires on around the 5th August. She has to take re-sit examinations over the month of August so she is looking to extend her Visa by an extra 3-4 weeks to allow her to complete her exams.

I understand she needs to get a letter from her University confirming that she is still studying but we don't really know what she is supposed to do with it.

What is the best way to extend her Visa for those extra few weeks so she can finish her studying? Also, does anyone know which application would need to be used for this?

All your help is very much appreciated because we are a bit stuck.

Many thanks

Mageling its more complicated than you think.

If she needs to re-sit an exam and her visa is expiring before that she needs to get admission again for the module she has failed to get a new CAS, otherwise she has no other option other than to return and find out from her Uni if they have an approved learning provider where she can resit her exam back in her home country.

If she is no longer required to attend Uni they cannot be considered as her sponsor and will not issue her a CAS letter therefore she will not be able to extend her Tier 4 Visa.

Therefore best option if she really doesn't wanna go back is to enrol with the Uni (most of them would enrol her and charge the fees on a pro-rata basis) and then will issue her a new CAS

Thank you for your replies.

She flew to Dublin and returned on the same day and was given a 6 month visitor visa.

Thanks again

Mike
