Filing Tier 2 general visa within UK

I am from india and currently in UK on business visa. My employer is going to sponsor me Tier 2 general visa. He is process of doing formalities with UKBA.

Once its complete i will again come to india, stamp tier 2 general and leave for UK.

My question is - Can i apply for tier 2 visa from UK itself ( without returning to india for stamping.)

If yes - Any advantage of filing Tier 2 general visa from UK ?
