Multiple Passport Travel

Post by Aidanmccarthy » Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:08 am

Hi,

Can anyone help me?

I have two passports and I'm entitled to a third. I am wondering if anyone knows about or has experience with the following example situation.

So for example, Brazil has a 90 day stay limit on a tourist visa. Could I enter on passport A, stay for 90 days then leave on the same passport before entering again on passport B and stay for a further 90. Then do the same again after the second 90 days etc.

Would this flag with the immigration officials?

Thanks in advance.

The person is entitled to remain in a particular state for a given period rather than the passport. If you enter a state with one passport, remain for the maximum period, then leave and try to re-enter under another passport, you can't be admitted again as the same person. Most countries have passport scanners relayed to a database. If John Smith, DOB 26/3/1962, POB Rio de Janeiro, is already in the database as a Brazilian, this will automatically be pulled up if the same details later score a hit as a US citizen.

This is particularly relevant to Brazil. It's one of the most frequent questions on Brazilian Immigration forums. However, you can enter for 90 days and then make an extension for a futher 90 days. Beyond this you then have remain outside Brazil for six months until the annual cycle comes around to date you first entered.
